Erotic Writers - What Makes Them Tick, An Interview with Stone Richards

Dear reader,

As a consumer of erotica, have you ever wondered how the writers of those titillating stories, which make us wet or hard, come up with their wild scenarios. Have they performed what they write about? Do they have fantasies? Have they indulged themselves or are they all talk and no show? (like me.)

I don’t care what they eat. I want to know who they ate or would like to eat! What motivates them? What gets them going?

Shall we find out. This week’s person of interest is well known author Stone Richards

Welcome Stone, seeing how we are trying to get a feel for the sensuous writer, my questions may be a little pointed, so if you have a problem with a question, just go to the next one.

How long have you been writing erotica and would you prefer to write anything else?

About fifteen years. My publishing history was limited to short stories in various erotic fiction magazines until I debuted at Extasy Books last year.

Do you feel you offer anything special to your readers?

I hope so. I like to think I let them have a lurid peek into male sexuality from the inside of a male mind.

What are your writing goals?

I would like to write contemporary mainstream erotica full time. I like stories that don’t always have a happy ending, as some of my short stories demonstrate. I think human nature has its own quirks and kinks when it comes to relationships and I’d like to explore those avenues.

As an erotic writer, you are assumed to be a sexual person. Do you have any sexual hang-ups?

NONE! I think about sex twenty-four-seven and have no hesitation about jumping in to bed at any given moment!! I know. That sounds exhausting but you’re only here for a short time. My motto: Make the most of it!

As an erotic writer and a sexual person, do you have any sexual fantasies?

Still a few I haven’t acted on yet. Plans are in the works however!

Have you acted out your fantasy? If you haven’t would you consider living out your fantasy?

On many occasions. If I could live out my fantasy, Hugh Heifner would have to pack up and leave town!

From where do you get your main characters?

Real life. I’m a very observant person. I love to people watch. I suppose you could say I choose real people and turn them into fictional characters. It’s amusing to write about a character performing the way you want him/her to.

What is your preferred style, when writing erotica, ie. m/f f/f, m/m, mfm, bdsm, etc?

M/m and m/f with bondage sometimes. Sex toys are good too. Yeah. Lots of sex toys.

What do you personally look for in a sexual partner?

The ability to be uninhibited. Sex should be fun. And break all the rules.

Doing what to your sexual partner, gets you excited?

I’m very good with my tongue. 

Which celebrities or other well known individuals, if any, do you drool over?

None really. I can manage quite a wet drool however with a visit to a local lounge or, on occasion, even the grocery store. Sexual beauties are everywhere—one needs only to be observant.

Do you sometimes get turned on by your own erotic writing?

Absolutely! Answering these questions are making me pant! ;)

If so, do you do anything about it?

Such a question, Dee! Well, I’ve been known to leave the computer for a short—satisfying—break on occasion. *grin*

Have you ever participated in any of the wild scenarios of which you have written?

Yes… and I refuse to say any more!

In your estimation, what is the sexiest book/story you have written? And do you have a sexy passage that you would share with us.

It’s hard to choose but maybe The Search For Diversion, one of the ten short stories in Interlude—my first book with Extasy Books. Interlude contains several stories that are quite raw sexually, very graphic, even a short about two rapists who managed to find a solution to their overwhelming urge to rape. The Search For Diversion slows the pace a bit, fuels the imagination before the sex acts begin. Here’s a short excerpt:

“Don’t be nervous,” he said in a soft voice. A kind smile wreathed his handsome face.

He pulled me to him with a gentle tug on my left hand, then stroked my chest with strong fingertips. I felt anticipation curling up inside me, awaiting release in a most wonderful way. He took hold of my t-shirt and lifted it over my head, dropping it to the floor at our feet.

I felt on display, almost divulged to him that I had the urge to pose for him, then it occurred to me that perhaps he would take some pictures of me—at some point. After all, he was a photographer…and I was suddenly his willing subject.

I watched him as he took off his clothes, admired his lovely suntanned physique, feasted my eyes on his enormous cock. Long and thick, it was more impressive then mind. He was a god. Adonis. The Greeks could have modeled their statues from the perfect likeness of his body. I stifled a swoon.

He pushed my shorts from my hips and my anxious staff sprang forth, waving like an erratic flag in a stiff breeze. Immediately he encompassed my length in his hand, began to stroke me, making me weak in the knees.

“That’s wonderful,” I breathed, staring at my cock in his hand. “I never knew it could feel so exquisite.”

He chuckled at me, then took my right hand and wound it around his magnificent rod. The breath caught in my throat. I relished the smooth, hot flesh, firm and pulsing in my grasp. I began to stroke him, but only for a few seconds. I wanted more. And he knew what I was thinking. I was elated that he had read my facial expression. I’ve been told I have a very expressive countenance.

“Get on your knees and suck me,” he said.

What is your current release? Please post a blurb or tell us about it.

Interlude 2 debuted in January. It continues the tradition of Interlude with more short intensely graphic stories of m/m sex encounters.

Thank you for being this week’s guest and sharing with your fans. I hope you have found our questions stimulating.
Thank you for the opportunity to share a few secrets about myself with those who love to read erotica.
