Dear reader,
As a consumer of erotica, have you ever wondered how the writers of those titillating stories, which make us wet or hard, come up with their wild scenarios. Have they performed what they write about? Do they have fantasies? Have they indulged themselves or are they all talk and no show? (like me.)
I don’t care what they eat. I want to know who they ate or would like to eat! What motivates them? What gets them going?
Shall we find out. This week’s person of interest is a brilliant new author, Diane Layers.
Welcome Diane, seeing how we are trying to get a feel for the sensuous writer, my questions may be a little pointed, so if you have a problem with a question, just go to the next one.
• First question: How did you start writing erotica?
I began my erotic career actually on film. Made one film that never made it to the screen, as my screen partner and her manager/producer died in a car accident and all plans for everything stopped. All copies of the work, by the legal will of the producer, was destroyed. The title of the film was “The Wedding Night”.
• Diane, how long have you been writing erotica and would you prefer to write anything else?
I’ve been writing erotica for about 16 years, mainly as scripts. My favorite genre to work in is Science Fiction, and when writing anything, is the genre I choose to work.
• Do you feel you offer anything special to your readers?
I write with an environmental flavor, settings are in the future, and I hope my work make readers think about what may happen in the future if we don’t try to fix the environmental problems of today.
• What are your writing goals?
See above answer.
• As an erotic writer, you are assumed to be a sexual person. Do you have any sexual hang-ups?
Funny you should ask this question. For the movie, and to get some idea of what I’d be dealing with, our manager/producer sent me to Nevada to work in the houses there. For those who do not realize it, The Cow counties of Nevada promote legal whorehouses. A sexual hang-up, yeah I got one, NO ANAL, I am exit only.
• Diane, as an erotic writer and a sexual person, do you have any sexual fantasies?
Hehehehehe, When I write a sex scene, I have a specific actor I think about doing the scene with. I see the scene in my mind and well, I sometimes have to stop working to go play with Bob. (Battery Operated Boyfriend), to take off the edge, then I can get through the scene. Yes, when I play with Bob, I pretend that specific actor is my partner.
• LOL! Have you acted out your fantasy? If you haven’t would you consider living out your fantasy?
I’ve done many things with fantasies, usually alone in the quiet darkness of my own room. As for acting out my fantasy with that specific actor, I’d love to. In all honesty, I would be too scared to even approach the man.
• From where do you get your main characters?
Nature is the canvas for my main characters. I pull from Mother Earth, those considered endangered and near extinction. By using these characters, I hope to bring their plight into the sight of the World.
• What is your preferred style, when writing erotica, ie. m/f f/f, m/m, mfm, bdsm, etc?
I write all styles. My works do not follow the ‘standard’ sexual events. I go with all of them. My characters may start out watching someone, having a fantasy about that other character and end up chained to a wall with their fantasy person on the end of a whip wearing cowboy boots with spurs.
• What do you personally look for in a sexual partner?
Cleanliness, and the need to wear protective gear. In Nevada it is the law. No party hat, no party. Sex is meant to be fun, I don’t want it to kill me.
• Doing what to your sexual partner, gets you excited?
If the chemistry is there, just being with them. I prefer to be excited by touch. If the chemistry is not there, I don’t think on a sexual basis. Having worked the houses in Nevada, and getting more than just a couple dates a night, now, if the chemistry is not there, I’ll climb out the bathroom window.
• Which celebrities or other well known individuals, if any, do you drool over?
Vin Diesel, (Excuse my puddle I forgot my bucket. Got any towels, how about a mop?)
• Do you sometimes get turned on by your own erotic writing?
Yes, that is why I have a, ahem, Bob.
• If so, do you do anything about it?
See above answer.
• Have you ever participated in any of the wild scenarios of which you have written?
Yes I have. I have a series of unpublished works that I call Paramour Encounters. Those are stories of actual events written as fiction, that I’ve been involved or witnessed. You know the type, a look, a feeling, and in the middle of the day you find yourself with this person in the bushes getting the best fuck and caring less if the whole World sees you. You finish, and go your separate ways. Yes, I have done those.
• In your estimation, what is the sexiest book/story you have written? And do you have a sexy passage that you would share with us.
It’s not really a book or a story, I’m not sure what it is but I’ll share it with all.
Shadow Pleasures
By
Diane Layers
Our shade we share as our tongues begin the experience to explore the secrets leading to passionate penetrations.
From under the cover of marriage, he stands alone and in need. I caress him preparing for the pleasure I will give with the hot moist depths of my mouth. I caress with my tongue until I engulf him slowly. A moan of pleasure escapes as I tickle and massage with lips of fire.
Warmth spreads around my nipples his tongue taunts into standing tall rods. He teases the hot nature of this woman who remained hidden from sight under the frock of matrimony, until the day it rotted away to hang in shreds.
Together, we strip away from the other, the shredded remains of our oaths to all that came before. We reveal to each other our need and give in to our desires as lovers. We hide our physical union that is the pleasure and passion of paramours.
• What is your current release? Please post a blurb or tell us about it.
Evolution’s Dice, Deceit and Destiny by Diane Layers is available at Extasy Books. I’m going to post the review of the work, from RomanceJunkies.com; By zpidre Jul 7, 2007 –
Ikel managed to escape from the humans who invaded his planet and wiped out his people. He steals a spaceship - not an ordinary ship, it’s a living sentient being named Salini and sets out to find what is left of those who were off world at the time of the mass slaughter.
His travels take him to the Tarkan quadrant - upon arrival he saves some miners stranded after the human attack. They help him crew his ship in return for rescue. They travel to the planet Prin in the Oredal quadrant.
Xara is Falory and a captain of CAVNET, the Falory military. CAVNET captains are unique among the Falory as they share a telepathic bond with their ships- a species known as the Marrotts. The Marrotts have the ability to change their mass - allowing them to be a small as a parrot, when they sit on their Captain’s shoulder - or large enough to rival a cruise liner in size.
Ikel and Xara cross paths on the way to Prin and then things really get interesting. Xara captures Ikel and Salini, not knowing who it is in the human warship. When Xara takes Ikel to the head of CAVNET; the knowledge that he is in fact king of the Rontack is revealed. And, by luck Xara is the Oredal queen that he was to meet when he was captured by the humans.
Can Ikel and Xara put their stormy meeting behind them and reunite the Falory people? Will the Falory be able to stand against the humans or be wiped out forever?
EVOLUTION’S DICE- DECEIT AND DESTINY, it’s like no
other book I have ever read. This book is beyond original. Diane
Layers has an imagination as vivid as those incredible dreams that can’t be returned to - no matter how hard you try.
The plot and flow of this book is fluidic and before you know it you just can’t stop reading. The story itself contains racy sex scenes, action-packed fight scenes and pure comic moments. All that and it’s written about characters that don’t just break the stereotypical moulds, they shatter them! Diane Layers takes the fertile imagination common to sci-fi writers and then turns things up a notch or two. This is truly an original body of work.
This story is full of plot twists that you won’t see coming. Be
warned if you start this story - get ready to finish it in one
sitting. Once you’re hooked you can’t stop reading- trust me on that. I will be watching for more titles from Diane Layers, while I struggle to type - due to the fact my fingers are crossed for a
sequel.
Thank you for being this week’s guest and sharing with your fans. I hope you have found our questions stimulating.
